As we all know, Tesla vehicles feature quick accelerating and driving speed. But what you may not know, is that Tesla owns the fastest-accelerating electric car in the world. Unveiled in 2017, the new Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 1.9 seconds, planned to deliver in 2020. But Elon Musk says the delivery has been delayed.
Elon Musk said Tesla’s current plan is to improve the production of Model Y Tesla and push construction work of the Gigafactory in Berlin. At the same time, the Gigafactory Shanghai will also get expanded. Top priority is the mass production of Semi and Cybertruck. As for the delivery date of the new Roadster, Elon Musk didn’t say more details.
The new Roadster was limited to 1,000 reservations, and the base price is $200,000. The car has a 200-kilowatt-hour battery and goes 998 miles on electricity. The torque at wheels was 10,000 N⋅m. 0-60 mph takes 1.9 seconds, 0-100 mph 4.2 seconds, and 1/4 mile 8.8 seconds.
Although the new Roadster was offered a limited quantity, early reservation holders will not care about the delay and care more about the car’s impressive performance. Tesla starts to improve its cars’ functions and configurations, beginning with small upgrades, such as adding a wireless charging pad on factory Model 3 in China, etc. Those upgrades have earn Tesla more loyal support.
